Professional Slide & Film Scanning
Preserving your 35mm negatives and slides with the CanoScan FS4000US
Incredible 4000 DPI Resolution
Detail is everything. With 4000 dpi optical resolution (yielding a 65 megabyte file from a single 35mm negative!), the CanoScan ensures each image looks its best. You won't find any other scanner in this class that exceeds it. More resolution means more details show, critical for transferring images to your monitor or printing high-quality photo enlargements at 14 bits per channel.
Advanced Scanning Technology
High Quality Colour Reproduction
This scanner's colour is unusually clean because it's built to accuracy standards higher than conventional scanners. A high-brilliance cold cathode mercury fluorescent lamp and 42-bit scanning work together to give you smoother colour gradients and improved highlight and shadow details.
Eliminates Dust & Flaws Automatically
We utilize FARE (Film Automatic Retouching and Enhancement) to improve image quality during scanning. It uses both hardware and software to detect and remove imperfections like dust and scratches at the time of scanning, saving hours of retouching work.
Autofocus & Manual Precision
The optical system detects and focuses on uneven film distances automatically to provide the sharpest scan possible. For those times when an unusually damaged original requires more flexibility, we can adjust the focus manually for perfect results.
Speedy Batch Processing
No matter what type of film format gets loaded, the scanner voraciously feeds and scans with speed and quality. Consecutively scanning up to six frames of 35mm filmstrip or four mounted slides, it makes short work of even big film archives.
Bringing Faded Memories Back
Over decades, the dyes in 35mm slides and negatives can shift and fade, often leading to a "magenta" or "blue" cast. Our scanning process includes basic color correction to counteract this aging process. By utilizing high-bit-depth capture, we can recover shadow detail and restore the vibrant colors that were present when the photo was first taken.
Organized Digital Libraries
Scanning is only half the battle. We provide your high-resolution images neatly organized in folders (by reel, box, or date if provided). We name the files sequentially and can provide them on USB drives or via secure cloud download, making it easy for you to search, share, and backup your entire family history.
Let us help you preserve your priceless film memories with professional-grade scanning services.
